He is the Founder + Editor-in-Chief of Machined, a newsletter that provides insights on AI, the Metaverse, and living in an automated world. He was also the host of the Fast Forward podcast, where he interviewed CEOs, technologists, and artists about living in the future, available on Apple Podcasts and anywhere fine podcasts are given away for free.

Dan Costa served as Editor-in-Chief of PCMag.com and Senior Vice President of Content for Ziff Davis from 2011 to 2021. In that time, he oversaw the editorial operations for PCMag.com, AskMen.com, ExtremeTech.com, and Geek.com. Dan has appeared on local, national, and international news programs, including CNN, MSNBC, FOX, ABC, and NBC discussing new technologies and their impact.

Dan is a sought after speaker on technology and innovation, and has been a cultural attaché for the U.S. State Department since 2015. During those assignments, he lectured professional and academic audiences in Hong Kong, Oman, Uruguay, Portugal, and Taiwan on AI, 5G, digital privacy, big data, and the broader technology trends that impact business and society.

He has edited two books: The Home Office Computing Handbook (McGraw-Hill, 1994) and In the Shadow of the Towers (iUniverse, 2002).

He holds a B.S. in Magazine Journalism and B.A. in Political Science from Syracuse University.
